What “Clean Website Architecture” Really Means for Business Owners

Pick the structure your team will actually maintain. Everything else is easier to fix.

There is no objectively best CMS. There is only the CMS your team will actually use to publish reliably, without asking a developer, three years from now.

This makes CMS choice a workflow question first and a technology question second. WordPress is objectively worse than modern headless options on almost every technical axis – and it still wins for teams whose editors have been in WordPress for a decade and cannot afford the retraining cost. Sanity is objectively excellent – and disastrous for a team that needs marketers to publish without a schema conversation.

The right process is unglamorous: interview the actual editors, watch them publish on the current system, list the things they hate and the things they’d never give up, then pick the CMS that removes the first list without touching the second. The technology decision falls out of that.
